National Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse

About Us

The National Council for the Prevention of Drug Abuse was founded in 1969 by Rev. Devore Walterman, Executive Director Teen Challenge, San Francisco along with his assistant Rev. Larry Moore.  The council has reached approximately million students per year in the United States.  The program expanded to all branches of the military worldwide.

The program is designed to bring information and awareness of drug abuse and gang activity that has invaded our school population.

Knowing that our children's education and future will be limited by drug use and gang activity, our staff, who has "BEEN THERE/DONE THAT", are well accepted by the students and faculty because of their knowledge and former lifestyles.

Dr. Larry Moore
Founder/CEO

For over 40 years Larry Moore has traveled the world spreading the word of God.  With him he carried the impartiality and courage to meet people where they were to give them the "good news".  As a young man of courage he preached with the fervor of a Mohammad Ali on Market Street in San Francisco, not knowing the conclusion or outcome of his efforts, but all the while knowing he should speak God's word.

Coming from a life filled with drugs and crime Dr. Moore has experienced that which he speaks and teaches about.  After a life changing experience with the power of God he and his wife got saved, cleaned everything out of their home and began to walk with and live for God.

On January 21, 2006 Dr. Moore was appointed to the office of Evangelism Training Consultant for the Church of God in Christ in the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, where he ministers annually.

Dr.  Moore speaks in public and private schools, churches, and youth groups across the nation and around the world.  He is a powerful and effective communicator and travels throughout the world preaching and teaching Gods plan of salvation.
